Questions

How often should I have an eye exam?

Most adults every one to two years. Dr. Alam may suggest yearly visits for children, contact lens wearers, or if you have diabetes or a family history of glaucoma.

How long does an exam take?

Plan for about an hour, a little longer if your eyes are dilated.

Will my eyes be dilated?

Often, yes. Dilation lets Dr. Alam see the back of your eye clearly. Your vision may be blurry and light-sensitive for a few hours, so bring sunglasses.

Do you see children?

Yes. Call us and we'll help you choose the right time for a first exam.
